Vietnam: v[oo]ng d[oo]ng (Ho Chi Minh), v[oo]ng gai (Quang Nam), c[aa]y son dong (Anamese).

Distribution

Probably native to Asia and the Pacific Islands; planted throughout the humid tropics.
