Distribution

Southern China (Yunnan), Hainan, Indo-China, Thailand, Peninsular Malaysia, Singapore, Sumatra, Java, Borneo, the Philippines and Sulawesi; cultivated throughout humid tropical Asia (from Sri Lanka to New Guinea) and in small numbers in tropical America, Africa and Australia.
