Burma (Myanmar): thitto. Cambodia: kompeng reach. Laos: tong2. Thailand: katon (general), kra thon (central), sa thon (peninsular). Vietnam: s[aa][us]-dan, s[aa][us]-dau.

Distribution

Commonly planted and naturalized in the Asiatic tropics, probably native only to the Malesian region. It is also cultivated in the Mascarenes, the New World tropics and under glass in Europe.
